We are pleased to inform you that Miller's 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony will take place on the FAMMS field on Friday, May 31, 2024 from 9:00 – 10:30 AM. Below is information and details about the ceremony that will help to make this a memorable experience for our students and families.
· All 8th grade promoting students must arrive at school by 8:00 AM and report to their 1st period class on time.
· Seating opens at 8:00 AM to parents/families after students have safely reported to their 1st period class.
Þ Families arriving prior to 8:00 am will be asked to que up outside of the entrance gates on the east and west sides of the school until all students have safely reported to classrooms and families are invited to enter the campus.
· The ceremony begins at 9:00 AM and will end by 10:30 AM.
· Seating is arranged for 2,000 people. A designated seating area for those who bring their own chairs is available as this will be a well-attended event.
· If you bring an umbrella, please be seated at the back of the seating area as not to block the view of others.
· In order to preserve the view of others, any balloons should be checked-in to Room 520 before the ceremony and may be picked up at the conclusion of the ceremony.
· Parking in and around the school is limited. Any possible carpooling of friends/family is appreciated. Handicapped parking is available on the basketball courts at the west end of the school near the event as well as in both parking lots.
· We understand that photo opportunities are important at this event. In consideration of all of our guests, we kindly ask for our guests to remain seated during the ceremony. At the conclusion of the ceremony the stage with a beautiful back-drop will be available for photos for a long as necessary. We truly appreciate your cooperation in this effort!
